#OctoberFrights Blog Hop: Day 10, A Wraith’s Passion (poem)

Welcome back Blog Hoppers,

It’s the last day of the Blog Hop and I have my treat for you. My collection of Horror Poetry The Fears and Dreams of Everlasting Life is available for free today only on Amazon. And here is another one of the poems from the collection.

A Wraith’s Passion

Trapped in life
By a dark angel’s heart
Obsessive love
Grown from childlike need
Innocence fed
By the darkest lusts,

Forever turned to the dark path
A lover’s betrayal cut too deep
Soul longing for escape from pain,

Blade of dark blood pushing through
The reaping of a dark dream
Agony of an eternity never passing,

Until a fatal thought and memory
Clawing through the tempest
Into a rebirth
Becoming an echo of a former self,

Trapped in death
By a dark angel’s soul
Dark passion
Grown from obsessive love
Malevolence fed
By lustful fetters,

Wraith haunting
From beyond the shroud
In pursuit of an undying passion
Walking on the edge of
A beautiful Oblivion.

Thanks for visiting and reading,

#OctoberFrights Blog Hop: Day 6, The Dark Room (flash fiction)

Good Evening Blog Hoppers,

Tonight I’m sharing what is the beginning of a work in progress that I wrote some years ago and never got back around to it. This is something that may lay dormant for many more years or might just find new life and get finished next year. Only time will tell, but here it is for your enjoyment presented as flash fiction with warts and all. I didn’t even bother to dust off the spider webs. Enjoy!

The Dark Room

She awakens, opens her eyes, and sees nothing.

She closes her eyes quickly, tightly—waits for her mind to come fully out of her dream world—and then opens her eyes again.

She blinks; My God, I’m blind!

She tries to raise her hand to her face and feels the sharp sting of a rope digging into her wrist. She gasps and tries moving her other hand, her feet, and finds no movement. Nothing but the tight strangle of ropes.

Suddenly the fear of being blind is the last thing on her mind.

Where am I?

#OctoberFrights Blog Hop: Day 4, The Night Has Teeth (an excerpt)

Good Evening Hoppers, (He said in his cheesiest Count Dracula voice)

As we approach the midnight hour here on the fourth day of the October Frights Blog Hop I have a special treat for you all. Or maybe it’s a trick, blahahaha. Tonight I present an excerpt from my short horror story, The Night Has Teeth. Enjoy.

The Night Has Teeth

“Are you sure you don’t want to pull over?” Carrie asked.

“Yes, I’m sure,” Steve glared at her with a look that said stop-nagging-me.

“The rain is getting heavy,” She said looking out through the windshield. The wipers squealed across the cold, foggy glass. Carrie leaned forward and switched on the defroster. “I can’t even see the road signs anymore until we are right on top of them.”

Steve heard the concern in her voice and the good husband side of his brain kicked in. “We’re fine honey, it won’t be that much longer before we get to the Virginia border. We’ll out drive the rain before we get there.” As the words came out, he wasn’t even able to convince himself. Despite the many times he had driven across this semi-mountainous West Virginian highway, on their way to visit Carrie’s folks, he still got disoriented. “Baby, can you turn on the radio, maybe we can find a weather report?”

The report given by the radio’s static ridden voice did nothing to sooth Carrie’s nerves. The rain would continue throughout the night. She looked out her window at the trees, shadowy hulks climbing up into the gloomy night. The forest beside them brightened with a flash of lightning.

#OctoberFrights Blog Hop: Day 3, A Vampire’s Tears (poem)

Welcome back to my little corner of the October Frights Blog Hop, I hope everyone is having a great time. Today I’ll be offering up what is probably my personal favorite poem that I have written, A Vampire’s Tears. This poem is included in my collection The Fears and Dreams of Everlasting Life which is available on Amazon for the awesome price of $0.99 or you can read for free if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited. Fears and Dreams will also be available for free during a special promotion on October 10th.

A Vampire’s Tears

Walking through the weeds
Stepping on the thorns
Of the black roses
Sucking up the pain rain
Falling from my eyes,

Living off the blood
Of a long lost lover
I went in search
And found another
One just as sweet as her,

Drinking your blood I feel the power
Please just stay alive another hour
I want to taste every last drop of you
While I still see human behind your eyes of blue,

You give me life
You’re not just my lover
I’ll suck you dry
So I can have another,

Night without fears
On this carousel of tears.

Thanks for stopping by and reading! I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of Halloween season as much as I am.

#OctoberFrights Blog Hop: Day 2, Burning (a poem)

Here’s a poem excerpted from my Horror Poetry Collection, The Fears and Dreams of Everlasting Life, which is available at Amazon: Click Here for $0.99 (or read for free with Kindle Unlimited). Fears and Dreams will also be on a free promotion on October 10th.

Spiral, spiral, burning bright
Eyes that mar, Eyes that bite,

Hot waves gnashing cold flesh
Cells bursting, Rupture, fluids mesh,

Trembles, quakes, body aches
Shivers, quivers, the sun delivers,

Bursting, popping,
Bubble-wrap skin
The flames distilling
Every ounce of sin,

Falling down, crumbling to ash
Eternity ends in a brutal flash.

Thanks for stopping by and reading!
